I finished colouring the Galley scenes. It took a lot of time but thankfully I was able to save myself some work using copy and paste and other time saving techniques such as the blending modes in Clip Studio which gives these filter type settings you can use. Since I kepts everything in seperate layers, moving sections, chopping and changing aswell as swapping colours is easy work, however it still took more time than I'd like. The Hardest part would probably with each variation a torch would be lit, which changes the lighting drastically, and I would have to hatch in more highlights.
Another thing, that was tedious was colouring the close up scenes, as I tried to match the intial scene in terms of lighting as best as I can without sinking all my time into perfectionism.
I also realize when I shade, I usually use 5 colours, the middle colour (usually the one I use as a base/ flat colour layer), two darker and two lighter. It gives enough variation and detail without making things messy and complicated for replication (especially since I need to colour that animation in a similar fashion).
